The proposed regulator helps control salt water intrusions and aids irrigation during
non-monsoon seasons.A proposed drinking water supply scheme by KWA has its
intake structure at 3km u/s of the proposed regulator,so that enough storage is
available for the proposed water supply scheme and for irrigation purpose.The
ayacut area that will be benefitted by the construction of RCB is 1200 Hectors and
the crops that will be benefitted are
vegetables,banana,coconut,arecanut,pepper,paddy etc

The contractor has filed a Writ Petition No 1217/2021 in the Hon’ble High Court of Kerala to stay all coercive steps like termination pursuant to the demand for extension of Bank Guarantee as seen in Ext.P17,till the disposal of this Writ petition. Court directed the 6th respondant (vigilance) to submit report on the matter. Vigilance made an enquiry regarding the matter and they will submit the report to the honourable court. Final decision will be taken according to the verdict from the court.
